Description
White wine drinker I am not. I was very rare to jump on a white; only ever in dining out scenarios and always accompanied by seafood. In those instances for me it was always a crisp, chilled Pinot Gris. The Giesen 0% Pinot Gris is the award winning wine house’s third option in their 0% range. The world famous Sauvignon Blanc, the newly released Rosé both get the tick and tick. Giesen are doing non-alcoholic wine well.
Top notch grapes are sourced from vineyards across New Zealand (Marlborough, Waipara and Hawke’s Bay)and oh boy does it show. This is everything I want in a white wine. Crisp, beautifully balanced and delicious. I get stone fruit, a rich full mouth feel and a tart acidity that balances any sweetness. This is a beautifully crafted wine of the ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’ calibre.
My Amy sized pour (aka very generous) has disappeared all too quickly. It’s straight back to the fridge for me!
As with all the Giesen AF wines the Pinot Gris is low cal, low sugar as clean as they come. Huzzah to guilt free drinking!
