Description
I was recently told that non-alcoholic Riesling’s are the daaahhhling of the alcohol free wine world! So what better time to try this new release German wine? Google tells me that typical characteristics of a Riesling are “light body and aromas of citrus, stone fruit, white flowers, and petrol.” Petrol?? Surely that’s the ethanol???
I digress. In the glass this pours a lovely light straw yellow. On the nose there is definitely an element of stone fruit, peach and a little something tart.
To taste, you get exactly what you’d hope to. This is delicious! It’s light (but you do get a full mouth feel), tart, fruity and it flavour lingers on the tongue. It’s a really nicely balanced wine that really delivers on flavour. Far from sweet, but not too acidic. Would be beautiful with seafood of any sort (especially oysters) or a tasty cheesy platter.
As with all non-alcoholic white wines, I recommend serving this “off-fridge”, meaning let it warm up a little before you drink it. Fridge temps don’t allow these delicate flavours to open up!
