Description
It’s no secret that I am a fan of the Giesen Non-Alcoholic Wines. I present them regularly in my tasting events and the Merlot in particular is a crowd favourite.
The Riesling is the latest in their offering of alcohol free still wines, (when will you be making a sparkling Giesen??) a bold move when you’re up against such stiff competition as Leitz Riesling (a universally adored white option).
On the nose this has the acidic punch you would expect from a Riesling. A very citrus forward drop it would seem. In the mouth…heck. NOT what I was expecting at all. Is is waaaayyy sweeter than it smells. Waaayyy sweeter than what I was expecting and waaaaayyy sweeter than what I can drink. There are some nice flavours in there, definitely getting the ripe mandarin, but I am getting no pronounced wine profile. This is a serious nup from me unfortunately!
