Where’s my freakin’ sombrero?

This is a review with a few layers. I first penned it mentally when Monday release the Mezcalita a few months back. That bones of the review went a little like this…Peachy but not too sweet, a little lacking on the citrus and tequila front.

Thanks to some local intel (Monday Distillery is based right here in Port Fairy) I’ve discovered that since that first release, Sammy has gone back and done a little tweaking. So if you buy a Mezcalita NOW you’re getting a very different drinking experience. I’m drinking the two side by side for comparison. What I’d say now is that they’ve dialled back the peach and dialled UP the tequila! You get a fair bit less fruit and a fair bit more smokey mezcal with some nice punch.

Still for me in need of a decent squeeze of fresh lime to really get the party started, but serve with salt and you’re in margarita heaven!

As with all Monday products, gloriously free of sugar and nasties!
